It used to be frowned upon to have more than one main string to your bow, but I don’t like labels or boxes and I’ve never been one to conform. Life is about evolving and striving to be better. I encourage other artists to do the same. Why limit yourself when there’s so much more to be discovered?
Acting:
I graduated from Arts Ed school of acting with a first class honours. My first professional job was playing the lead in Neil Simon’s ‘I Ought To Be In Pictures’ at the Manchester Home Theatre. It was for this I won the Manchester Evening News award for Best Newcomer. Other acting credits include: ITV ‘Lewis’, BBC ‘Casualty’, BBC ‘Eastenders’ and the BAFTA nominated short ‘We Are What We Drink’.
I’ve been fortunate enough to travel the world filming large campaign adverts as an actor and commercial model. Some of the big brands I’ve worked with include: Heinz, Hotels.Com, Microsoft, Mars, Co-Op and Kelloggs. Chances are you’ve seen me on your screens eating Maltesers, crying over soup or bathing with a bearded gentleman… Acting and modelling are very strange professions.
Playwriting & Screen Writing:
I recently developed a play on Soho Theatre Writer’s Lab, and my short film ‘Aeroplanes’ (directed by Cannes winner Paul Shammasian) is screening at various festivals around the world. My lyrical play ‘The System’ was long-listed for the 2017 Papatango Award and in 2016 I co-wrote ‘Might Never Happen’ with Doll’s Eye Theatre (its sell out run at The Kings Head resulted in a transfer to Zedel’s Crazy Coqs and then toured UK schools with the support of Rape Crisis).
talks & workshops:
I occasionally facilitate workshops on creative writing and love giving industry talks about creating your own work and staying proactive in the creative industries. Again, drop me a line for more info or advice.
